PRAN Dairy and BAU signs MoU to support dairy sector development

PRAN Dairy Limited, country's leading dairy-processing company, and the Interdisciplinary Institute for Food Security (IIFS) of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together for the development of Bangladesh’s dairy industry. The signing ceremony was recently held at BAU meeting room.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will jointly promote research, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s dairy sector. The collaboration seeks to bridge academia and industry to enhance the overall standard and sustainability of dairy production in Bangladesh.

Professor Dr. G.M. Mujibur Rahman, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University, attended the event as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Eleash Mridha, Managing Director of PRAN Group, and Professor Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin, Convener of the BAU Dean Council.

Welcoming the initiative, Professor Dr. G.M. Mujibur Rahman said, “Such collaboration between academia and industry is extremely important for ensuring the country’s food and nutrition security.”

Speaking at the event, Eleash Mridha said, “Contributing to the growth of Bangladesh’s dairy industry remains one of our key priorities. Through this MoU, we will be able to play a greater role in improving milk quality. Another important objective of this initiative is to uphold our commitment to delivering safe and high-quality milk to consumers.”

Among others present at the event were Md. Maksudur Rahman, Chief Operating Officer of PRAN Dairy Limited; Professor Dr. Md. Mahabub Alam, Director of IIFS; Professor Dr. Raihan Habib of the Department of Animal Science at BAU; faculty members of IIFS; and senior officials of PRAN Dairy Limited.
